Front End....... something missing - the tracks in SA are clockwise so RH bars suffer - getting one out of Sydney
I'm on the hunt for some 3/16" dia aluminium/titanium rod to replace the brass rods in the pic below - suggestions?
Also want to borrow a standard seat base to use as a mould for a single seat with pod - 900SS style - sort of....
I don't want to disassemble my seat for this purpose - just need the base

I stopped in at Laverda heaven on the way back from Moree?? today to scope out oil coolers.....
Reds data shows only a few degrees difference between cooler and no cooler also - he is ceramic coating combustion chambed
and piston crown to achieve the same result - interesting.....

this is a few con rods from failed Lav engines......looks expensive...

Congrats  ;)

I personally think that it looks funny with those long tubes extending down and then connecting to the hoses.
Also ( i know you all will tell me if I am wrong) shouldn't it face straight on to the air flow??
Also if you use a cooler off a Lav   it won't work cause it's meant to VIBRATE  :P

Can't wait to see it complete.

The Antichrist of of xs1100 oil coolers ...(who has been spreading evil thoughts amongst the xs1100 brethren ;) )...would surely have an oil cooler to spare ???
I don t think anyone would disagree......you ve adequately modified the shitter out of your bike thus far.
And congrats on the milestone .

I agree that those connectors are rather clumsily executed - but it's on a Lav - what can I say....
It would hardly be modifying if I used the same cooler, besides the 2 that I have aren't in the best shape

Hey- I just noticed that this is my 1000th post

Bry Bry..it s YOUR bike dude.........but I see the oil line connectors as unnecessarily over extended and the cooler too "BOXY".
The original oil cooler suits the aesthetic lines of the tank.
But hey..................you are going "BACK" to a chain drive as well .....ha ha ha.
Whichever way.....your bike..... is all about you and what you want .....
Keep on chugging ....post-haste
Whats the deal with the "Corolla"?
Whats up with the "Cruiser"?
Are you the handlebar attendant on Jonesys standby bike to the rally?

This is the cooler I am using - the oil lines are at 180 centres - same as the frame -
sounds silly I spose, but I find the OEM unit inelegant.........

I am with Mr Jones what about the weight
But No I believe a Cooler is important on any Engine or transmission that works hard.
Just a side note I spotted a number plate for the corolla  Tiemeup  :)

I thought xs was going on a weight loss program.

but if you're intent on putting a cooler back on, why not the original item?
