hey Irish,
I've had no trouble with the Jota bars for the last 10 years, coupled with rear sets, I found them most comfortable
even on the 1000km rides to Bathurst, and beyond to Philip Island. Australia is BIG and I wouldn't build something I wouldn't like to ride.
The R6 front end, once set up, will have plenty of damping, and rebound for the XS11 lump - it appears that the machine
is weighing in around 200kg, (dry) surprisingly.
Wheelbase and geometry is basicaly the same as Yamaha's FZS 1000 Fazer
Don't be confused - this is not just a "bolt on" chain drive project - smiley face icon  ;)

the Jota bars setup

yo, on a 70's musclebike, clip-ons give ya a sore neck and totally fk with the steering/leverage, wide bars are waaay better on old musclebikes, (cafe-style is just for looks , horrible to actually ride for any length of time) and forks need to be looong for acceptable ground clearance, springs need to be the right weight to be  spacer-adjusted internally for only 5-6mm preload with about 25mm sag with rider onboard. rear springs also gotta be the right weight to match..

looking good  , those fork ends  look scarey  but the fairing may conceal them
looks like you make make the rally at this rate
foot note ps where did you source the bar end mirrors
I'll make an offer on the leftover loom bits give me a bell if you open to offers

A FB friend has these  - I thinking seriously about the one on the right - checking to see the headlight diameter
It is basically the same as the XJR short one below -
I an not a fan of the Kawasaki ZRX12 style - a bit angular, and rectangular headlight

Hmmmmmm..... as much as I like the twin headlight look, I'm not convinced that those units would be much good at night...
I'm leaning towards something like this - NOT the "tall screen" unit
Hen tells me he has a Vetter that I can have ....
