Was in a warehouse today stocked full of new and original Yamaha parts and supplies
Not only Yamaha but all sorts of  vintage stuff
New frames, plastics, tanks etc
I nearly fell over with all the gear on stock
And he’s still got two shipping containers to catalogue
Turns out it’s all the stuff from the Pitman family business after they closed shop
The guys name is Rod
His eBay shop is motorcycle parts fast
His website is

This was the initial findings, 1 & 2 piston missing completely, the bottom of the bores smashed off and of course metal in abundance

The initial call came through while on the WA run in Oct 24,
“I have a motorbike that’s been sitting in Lismore for ages with a blown motor and the mechanic/shop owner isn’t in a hurry to do much “,    He’d been talking to Eddie and had bought Jonesy’s rolling frame and motor as well as a complete motor from Melbourne, and of course both gentleman had suggested he chat to me
So I suggest he goes and retrieve it ( Dereck is on the Sunshine Coast)
and bring it to the barefoot garage where it’ll get the correct attention and rebuilt.
A date after Xmas was organised, and he turned up with the bike and the spare Melb motor (that was running when removed from the bike) if it was running, it wasn’t running very well after the initial pull down of both motors,

Dunno know what they're worth nowadays or if they even still make them
but brown 1.5ohm dynacoils pack a punch about 3 times the voltage of the crusty
old factory yamaha ones and you ditch the B.S. ballast resistor when you
slap them in,  the yanks on the yank xs11 site pissed their panties and
wrung their hands and said i was wrong and you had to use the 3 ohm
ones or else the bike would fry the black box and explode into raging
flames but mine have worked brilliantly and trouble-free for 30 years...
funny that...

Hi all
Got some juju going on with my 78 1100e
Having lots of intermittent spark problems
When running bike is going well
Sometimes bike will not start even after just been running
Sometimes will not start at all cold
Have gone over while wiring loom and cleaned plugs and connectors
Have gone over pickup wires and repaired some cracks
Have checked pickup ohms at tci plug and are in spec
Have checked other plugs at tci box and are in spec
Have changed spark plugs
Have checked ballast resistor ohm’s and is in spec
Have cleaned and double cleaned kill switch and ignition barrel
Have new ngk plug caps on
Have removed tip over switch as couldn’t get a ohmage of that
Have cleaned and checked battery grounding to frame and engine case
Battery is reasonably new and holding charge ok
When no spark it is across all four plugs
Every thing else electrical works on the bike as it should even when no spark
Except for fuel gauge which has never worked since I have owned it
Tank sender unit has ohm readings so is most likely the diode in the headlight bucket which I have not replaced yet
And have been annoying the crap out of Christian and Geoff and Tim
Putting it up here for any hot tips
So I don’t start hitting the bastard with a hammer

Cheers
Glenn

To go on club rides that are not counted as part of the 60 days you need to be a member of the relevant clubs so a dedicated MC club is better, like Ulysses or VJMC then any meetings or rides they have are free days.

Thanks for the information Christian I think I am on the right track now.
The Shoalhaven Historic Vehicle Club seems to tick all the motorcycle/vehicle boxes I was looking for.
I have contacted them and am waiting on the next steps going forward.
Cheers

Does anyone know anything about club rego for a motorcycle in NSW?
What is involved etc?
Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
You need to be a member of an affiliated club like Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club or Ulysses to start with. There are lists on the RMS website also all the forms and rules etc. All up quite an easy process feel free to call me.
