As I remember Jeff,

The only bikes that have broken down at the rally have been Standards.

Brett, Tim, (although he had an RH loom till we changed it and it broke), Xtian, My sidecar (that was in the relms of Xtians motor meltdown only instead of all four pistons, I only faunicated 2).

As for 3 in the shed Xtian, that's kinda like still in the closet.....

Bretto had a standard with an RH tank (along with other Frankenbike bits).

next week I'm helping out a fella in Canberra who has an RH. (will get him on the forum).

And remember Lil Scottys Mega fast RH which was held together by Duct tape and road grime.

So all us closet RH owners. be proud and get out on your RH. (make sure you have a crew vehicle with you to assist you to top up the Round Head lighter To Refuel Hourly).

Plan is to bring 2 to the rally,

Not the fault of the bikes or their design per say....more the many sticky fingers that have been at them without enough experience to maintain or service/repair them.

That would be great before I start throwing cash (more cash) at bits I may not need. In the depths of writing school reports for the brats at the moment but will get in touch soon.

Thanks a lot.

Funny thing is.............................

The RH baggers either have a standard with a round headlight (read desperately want one but want to remain in the closet) or

Have one or two in the shed.

Maybe at the next rally the Proud RH owners will converge en masse and over run the standards with sheer numbers (I can only dream) This of course will put Lou's best RH trophy run in jeopardy.

Sooo...if you own a RH Model....you re "Out and Proud"? :)
The simple reason there are not many RH bikes at the rally...or seen anywhere... is because they run out of fuel with those peanut tanks and are left by the side of the road...or trucked back home.

I must admit to really liking the lighter, gold, "itallic" wheels of the RH - and have never been a fan of the "diving mask" headlight of the standard.

XS11E, it has not confused but has indeed provided a huge degree of clarity. Something to work towards.

The original 1.1 badges can still be bought new on ebay. the downside is, when they come up they get snapped up  very quickly and you would expect to pay $70 for a pair.

Reproduction badges are available"

Hey Andy,

The 1981 "RH" 5N5****** or in Europe The "S" 5K7******** :

https://hiveminer.com/Tags/xs1100%2Cxs1100rh

The US Model 1980 "LG" and 1981 "LH" are similar to each other. wheels are different. also called the "Midnight Special":

The 1981 "H" 3X1******* the same as your model

Hope this adds to your confusion..........
