Hi Owen why not just get a couple or a set spun up at a machine shop or maybe give Tarn Mott (down my way) a call or message him.
Tarn's user name on the forum is Primate.
That would be better than chopping up a set of pipes.
Hmmm sounds like something I could attempt on my little lathe maybe....

I was going to take the angle grinder to the exhaust to retrieve the collar rings, but now feel a bit guilty at attacking the 40+ year old headers... However, if anybody in SEQ wants the original headers for the price of two exhaust collar rings, let me know in the next day or so.

OEM Headers are double walled and sought after. There are exhaust collars available on Ebay.
I believe these are the same as for the xs1100.

You could sell your old system to someone with good welding skills who is  prepared to patch them for reuse.
Always good to recycle these parts and pick up a few dollars on Ebay at the same time.

Hi Folks,

I've just received a Wulf Exhaust for a XS1100SH (Special).  It is actually made for the sport but, looking at the Yamaha archives, it looks the same but in polished stainless rather than the black finish. I just Started fitting the system and it's looking like it's going to be a great fit.

I've managed to get two of the header pipes off and retrieve the header clamps. Just before I take an angle grinder to the old exhaust headers, is there a way to get the last two header clamps off, or was the original system shipped with two of the clamps already on the headers?

Yes and my sincere apologies to Wulf for thinking the baffle had come loose, thanks Christian and Mal for advising me on what the issue was and how to resolve it.

Sealed the connection between the muffler and header with 3bond black, problem fixed.

Hello,
I’m just after some advice on how to fix a rattling baffle in one of my mufflers?
I purchased the system from Heinz in Germany as part of the bulk buy Christian organized back in 2021, unfortunately the right hand side muffler is rattling on start up but does get quieter once warmed up, and I’d like to get it fixed but have no idea on who would be the best person / business to approach for this type of repair. I’m in Adelaide so if anyone knows of any gurus that might be able to help, please let me know.
