It’ll be interesting to see, I suppose the big question will be before anything else is sorted, “do the valves touch one another as they pass through their travel lines”?
Only real way to sort that would be a dummied up motor with no pistons or barrels to keep timing in line,?? 🤔

Also, timing isn't effected. All I have to do is rotate the inlet cam by about 30 degrees t0 align the lobes the same as the exhaust cam. That angle is a stab at visual. Obviously it would have to me dialled in.

Closing and opening ramp angles are the same for all cams that I measured> As I said, its only the inlet cam lift that's different.

I’ll jump in head first and say no, due to opening and closing ramp angles ect. Without even thinking about other issues ie timing. BUT, I’m only a bricklayer!

So, I am back again. Thanks for the ongoing help from everyone. But this is a more technical question for the very experienced.
I have a set of 1978, 1979 and 1980 camshafts.
I dialed them up to very the difference as mentioned on the forum elsewhere.
I found:
1. The duration on all camshafts years, inlet and outlet, were identical
2. The lift on all the exhaust camshafts was identical
3. The lift on the 1978 and 1979 inlet camshafts were identical to each other (In other words verifying the 1978 and 1979 camshaft sets are identical)
4. The lift on the 1978 and 1979 inlet camshafts were 1.0mm higher than the 1980 inlet camshaft.
5. The dimensions of the inlet and outlet camshafts are identical.

So, here is my question: Can I fit the 1978 or 1979 inlet camshaft into the exhaust side, gain an extra 1.0mm lift on exhaust, and remark it so its rotated correctly?
Most likely a stupid question but one that I am curious about.
Regards
John
