We’ve had a couple more successful days floating around Qld, we made it back over to Townsville before we had a hiccup

Valve tube broke, don’t know how or why, but it wasn’t in the outback in the middle of nowhere
Today is replacement of tube and start heading south for home,

The picture at the border or the run into the Nt won’t happen now, our exhaust episode put us behind a few hrs to end up at Camooweal for a night and $130 for a single also put the kybosh on things, so we’re at mt isa looking at heading north east back to Julia Ck then south somehow

Kimm is doing well, not handling unexpected right hands into roundabouts very well, but is learning, her sciatica is actually healing, she was super worried she’d have to buy a bus ticket along the way.
The exhaust will be left for the face lift Eddie,

You didn’t want to christen your brand spanking new original RH exhaust then?

The oil issue has resolved itself, 100 Kim of dust has soaked up the oil and no new oil has been thrown out even after topping the diff up with 30mls.
We had 2 nights in illfracombe, spending a couple of hours walking the machinery mile then riding down to Isisford for the afternoon and sitting on the banks of the Barcoo. River,

The 100klm of dirt was riding out to Captain Starlight’s lookout {a name given to him by locals} he stole 1000 head of cattle once and drove them to SA, although the road was good it certainly tested the suspension, Christians motard exhaust was the only casualty having had nearly every bolt on the pipe come loose or fall out, it fell off after we were back on bitumin and ended up out in the tabledrain. It took some 2 1/2 hrs of walking the side of the road to find it, minimal damage was sustained with just a couple of scratches underneath the system.
This meant another night in the Longreach are instead of being way up the road, but at least I didn’t have to build a new system using another day and the cost that would have been associated.
Once we left Longreach next on the list was to visit the dinosaur museum out near Winton, we didn’t go into the exhibits because of inhibiting costs so we had a coffee and a slice.
Back on the road towards Winton and the famed billabong that the swagman jumped fully clothed into with his jumbuck, yes waltzing matilda,
The combo waterholes just outside Kynuna on Dagworth station was were it all took place,
The scenery whilst bland and boring, is vast in itself, hundreds of Kim of brown grass in places 200ml high, in others non existent still. For as far as the eye can see there isn’t a single head of stock then a group of 6 or 8 cattle or maybe 20 sheep is all there is out here. It’s been yrs since these people have had an income off the land and it will be yrs yet before they get one
Today is Kynuna out to Cammooweal and the Nt border, from there we’ll see how much drama it’s going to be to go out and come back, hopefully next to none lets hope

You wouldn't want to corner that hard with all that oil on the tyre anyway!
