You didn't have to delete your account, it would still work for you. They were going to charge if you wanted to link it to another site.

Yeah I do know I did not have to do it, but at the time it felt really good to pitch a sheit fit and do so. Now that I showed those money grubbing buggers how I felt about their moves, I kind of regret it. Oh well hindsight is 20/20. I will see if I still have copies of those pics to share.

The XS1100AUS photobucket is a paid site anyone in the group can create their own library there and all is safe.
The linking may be a problem, not sure yet, I am looking to see if a PB account which is part of a web name is exempt.
I am going to try and call them next week and find out what is going on, could be a difference between linking and sharing, will see.
our photobucket account is
http://photobucket.com
login
xs1100aus
password
yamahaxs1100

It is only 9% full so feel free to stick your XS stuff there please so it is not lost

Yeah that really was photobuckets dying wish for me. I had over 600 pics posted that are gone and I have no intention of paying $400 US a year for it. I tried several times to download all of my pics to move to another site but it was fruitless. Over 15 minutes a pic to download, so I just deleted the whole shebang and deleted my account. To go over 11 years of posts on many sites and replace the pics was an insurmountable task.
Unreal how much information and knowledge was lost, simply held for ransom that few could afford. I feel bad for all the members who tried so hard to pass on an incredible amount of experience etc lose it simply because of greed. One would think they could have at least left what was already done and make us pay a reasonable amount for future use.

The xs1100 photobucket account is still alive.
But...what of all the years and years of info with relevant associated pics that have now vanished due to photobucket now holding people to ransom to reinstate their pics for $400 per year membership.
It s a job no one has the time for...to find another hosting website and re link all their past pics.
A lot of time and effort from all contributors to benefit others now gone down the drain.
