Point taken.... although this was just get get me past the imagined '' decibel test'', which never happened anyhows. Plus theres been no bushfires of any note in downtown Brookvale for many a year ;). But I do remember the first place I went for a Blue Slip saying as bike had braided brake hoses' and NOT standard he would fail test. hmmm..... I told him I would hunt around for some original 20+ year old Yamaha hose and be back ....As they say, theres more than one way to skin a feral cat.

All good then :D.. I remember years back getting first blue slip for it, thought it may be a bit loud so I stuffed some steelo pads up the mufflers. First thing the bloke said was 'start the engine.'' I did and the steelo pads blew straight out.,.,. ;D ;D---- he just laughed. Then measured the wheel base. ( dont know why as its standard. )  Was all good.
Steel padding in the muffler can cause fires in the bush, metal can get red hot and if any blows out, trouble.
Better to use the proper rock wool and loosely wrap it around the baffle.

Hey there Jonesy, how you going? . Hows me old '' Bikey'' going? Get rego?. Bloody cold out Bathhurst way---- cold enough here; kinda glad I dont have a bike to ride.... ;D. To cheer myself up i've been googling Ninja ZX12R's for sale--- time for something more modern, that weighs 50 kg less , can actually go around corners at speed  :) and has a ''couple'' more hp. Let us know how it's going and any pics.       -Cheers mate, Chrisso.

$3,000. Not forgetting that you would have a perfect running 1980 XS1100 with spoked rims. Oceania Chassis / Vin #00037. oops sorry 000337.

I havent been here for a while. Anyways ive got my eye on a new bike; A Benelli TNTR160 or perhaps a Speed Triple. So therefore Bikey '' 1980 XS1100 will have to go. Ive owned Bikey since 2000. Now I would like to sell '' Bikey'' to Jonesy---but the price must be right. OK; bike has 210.000 kms. Rebuilt motor maybe 25 ks ago. I spent a lot of $$$ rewiring about 500 km;s ago. Needs new battery and tune. Ceramic coated headers. New carbs/ diaphram  not so long back. Also custom spoked rear rim and front XS650. Will try to post pics. Cheers guys.
