My rebuilt old set flooded after they ran dry, my newer rebuilt set flooded after they ran dry. As long as I don't run out of fuel all is good in the world.
Could be they just need the fuel to run through and lube everything up after sitting for a while.
If they flood again, persist for a bit running the engine for a while and see if they settle.

Which brings to mind a recent occurence of a friend of a friend...who was dealing with a back yard flea infestation by liberally spraying fuel from a backpack .....as you do ( gee willikers...i sure wish our emoticons were working....i could use a few poppy eyed and raised eyebrow ones).
All was going swimmingly well ....until.....the nicely misted petrol and the pilot light of the central heating unit came in contact with each other.
Many months in intensive care and burns ward was the result.
Not sure if the fleas are back tho....

when you pull carbs off again, take the floats off and wiggle them beside your ear to see if they have fuel in them, the solder leaks every now and then and the extra wieght holds the float needles open,
the other thing to check whilst floats are off will be the the seat of the needle, is it rubber {could be perished} or metal ? and make sure the small spring is still functional
may also partly be diaphragm rubbers in the taps, take the vaccuum line off at the intake manifold and see if you can feel it moving when you suck on it

gday David, welcome aboard mate,,
first things,, where are you,  town, city, area
how long has it been sitting or flooding
were you the last person to have the carbs apart,
fairly simple to work on but they have to be spot on in so many differing areas

with the fuel, has it still got the fuel octypuss under the tank, may well be the diapragm in that, if not float needles
