Yes I bought that one. Let me give you a quick overview. I went down to coffs giving the seller an ETA of about 3. Being cynical, I was thinking that he would have it all nice and warmed up before my arrival. Anyway I made good time and caught him out of the office so had to wait 10mins. So he turned up opened the door pulled the choke out a flick of the key and wow! Came straight to life, no knocks, sounding sweet a minute later the choke is in and it's purring like a kitten. Nice and clean, rotors in good nick, no dings to get concerned about. Seat everything great. But.....
Tyres straight to the bin. Not registered so I haven't really been able to ride it, however I've done some laps of the driveway. Dreading the possible 2nd gear SNAFU. And it had a complete pacĂfico fairing on it which he took off. (i have that sitting in my garage if anyone needs bits) of course the headlight and front indicators went with the fairing. He has a new single (round) headlight and I'm off to the wreckers in the morning to look for blinkers for road worthy and Aussie compliance. Still trying to figure out what wires are doing what, I've printed out a wiring diagram so when I have the parts I'll hopefully get it sorted. If not, you all will be the first to know. Thanks for the welcoming replies.
Cheers
David.

Hello to all members. Just got myself an F, the indigo blue one from coffs. (yes it turned out to be a 79, manufactured 5/78) Big thanks to all, as I've been going through your posts to research the do and don'ts etc.
Putting new tyres on this arvo and in for road worthy next week. First question (of many to come) who is the go to mechanic in Brisbane? I'd like someone in the know to do the original set up of carbs, tuning etc. Used to own a 70's 650 back in the 90's but this is another learning curve I'll have work myself round.
