from my research it,s not an original, it doesn,t have the famed 5h4 prefix,

I got hold of the w/shop supervisor that worked on them in their day,, he says the only legit bikes are in police museums,
the "owner" started to get antsy when asked specific questions and said if I didn,t want to pay the dollars, he,d paint it brown and sell the next day,

if you want it go for it, just letting you know

he wanted 6k for it last time

The XS1100P has resurfaced.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yamaha-XS1100-Qld-Police-bike-/191625400883?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item2c9dc39233

same bike. with a starting bid of $1K

Wonder what the reserve is?
My hold back is the engine and frame # 3X1 was for an H model?????????

P model was 5H4????????????

was it not???????????

None the less it has all the good bits, appears to be in pretty good condition and would be a great talking point.

Eddy.

More info come to light.

Engine and frame numbers match...bonus

Prefix is 3x1

Is not the policebike designation 5H4?????????

or did QLD police take an H model and " kit it out" like a 5H4???????

This one is interesting???????

Not to mention.....the split in the handgrip......or the broken Hi /Lo switch...or the wiring to the sirens ( I m sure they had cable ties in the day  :o ).....
....or the plug caps being installed to the wrong spark plugs...(long type on the outer...short type on the inner )...or the loose bottom half to the air filter...wot a picky pack we are  ;D
 :P but I secretly want it  :P ....and..... alas.....can t afford it  :( .

Now listed on its own - CLICK

"

This is a genuine Yamaha XS1100 Queensland Police bike, after finishing service on the road it was used by the Petrie TAFE college for training mechanics then purchased back by a local Police officer.

I have owned it for around 10 years, all the lights work, it was a running bike when I got it, I will fit a new battery and fire it up prior to sale.

Tyres are old and should be replaced for serious riding
