From the description and pics..the new owner will also need to invest in 2 new tyres as it s been in storage for the last10yrs.
Non original looking seat cover......missing the horn bracket.......and as robust as the rear homemade rack is.........its shocker to look at.
An inquiry and pics confirm the engine is not the original......... nor a 78E....... which may confuse the new owner when it comes to tuneups .....having a different TCI and timing adjustment than the 78E. Admittedly it s reasonably presented bike.....

"This is a 1978 Yamaha XS1100, a great early big cc bike from the early superbike days, the bike that won a Suzuka 8hr. This bike has been in storage for over 10 years and is in very good condition, I just put some fuel in it and jumped it and it fired up, no smaoke or rattles, runs quite well, splutters a bit as you would expect but a good ride should clear it up. I took it around the block and everything works. One of the brakes seems to be dragging slightly. very original and complete. Eledgeable for club registration. Great to just ride as is, and easy restro or modify to your taste. Battery was replaced a couple of years ago, holds charge but may need replacing. small hole in seat cover. Bid to buy as it is a no reserve auction. It is a 36 year old bike so has some marks etc as you would expect but I think very good for age. Please look at pictures closely as they show the bikes condition. Located in S.E. suburbs of Melbourne but will assist with freight at buyers cost. Cash on pick up or Bank deposit prefered otherwise if using Paypal buyer will have to pay the fee's. "
