Auction ended..... $3000.99.. :o  :o :o
The seller will be ecstatic....the buyer will be.....ummmmm....surprised ....on closer inspection.
One of the strangest bidding activity results I have seen....
Around 9 bidders...with a dubious bidder whos account history is zero pushing up the bid on 2 players with reasonable past history.
Time will tell if we see this back on the market again for one  reason or another.

Taking a closer look at the Ebay pics.....using the "mouse over image to zoom" function........it looks like "Dodgy Brothers " have done the detailing job on this bike.
Pinstriping is atrocious ....black paint looks like it would dissolve and run if given a whiff of fuel .
Broken clutch lever ...what up with the speedo ?..........tyres look "Too" consistently black ....worst body filler job on the side of the tank I have seen.
Don t mention the rusty chrome on the tail light bracket...exhaust system..........or the airfilter chrome which seems as if it s been polished dull with steel wool as has the indicators and other areas in an attempt to remove rust..
Not to mention the flat silver paint on the front indicator holder.
Front fork caps??........who knows!!!
If you look past all the cheaply done glitzy bits you ll see the real condition of the bike before it had its "Hollywood" makeover.
I have a feeling....lying beneath this seemingly photographically presentable bike is a list of issues.
As the auction is at $2,650....with 23 hrs to go....it s definitely a "buyer beware".....and I feel it has already surpassed the low $2,000 mark of it s worth.
Oh..........and it ain t no 78 model as the owner claims......well at least the engine isn t .............no kickstart spline!!!!

Looks to be a pretty clean bike - CLICK

"Up for auction is a 1978 Yamaha XS1100. The XS is sold unreg but has an Aust. compliance plate an can be full road reg. Also qualifies for Classic rego.(around one third the price of full rego.) Has matching engine and frame numbers, previous Victorian rego.

The XS has been laid up for many years. The fuel tank and carbs were cleaned and it fired straight up! Engine runs strong and sounds grunty with neat 4 into one and alloy muffler. Speedo shows 63,000k's. Left side cover is not original. Brakes will need attention due to sitting, tyre tread is good but probably hard due to age. Fitted with brand new battery.

These XS 1100's are near bulletproof, having won the Castrol 6 hour race in the 1970's. Also popular for Cafe Racers, they have that "tough" looking stance. My tip is that they will greatly increase in value in the near future. Big bore seventies Superbikes hard to find- don't miss this one!

Start price is the reserve. Sold as is, ask all questions before you buy. Mechanics inspection welcome.

Terms, contact within 24 hours of sale, full payment within 3 days unless otherwise arranged.

Freight to capital city depots only:

? Sydney $200
? Canberra $250
? Adelaide $200
? Brisbane $300
? Perth $770
? Tasmania P.O.A.
? Other destinations please email for a quote.

Sorry freight company details only supplied to winning bidder.  Freight insurance is the buyers responsibility. Sorry, no Paypal on this item.

Local pick up from Warragul, around 1 hour from Melbourne via. the Monash freeway or I can deliver to Melb metro if paid for beforehand."
