Hey George,

Totally agree with  Jeff's scenario, I've got a set of Metzeler Lazer Techs on my 77 R100/7 and according to our local Goo Roo  Doug, the head shake is from the tyres when they get a certain wear from being ridden with low air? I must admit that mine happens if you let one hand of the bars?

Hope this helps?

Cheers
Lou

dropped bars/weight transfer, possible bent frame from a past life, bump at the right place at the wrong time, squared off rear tyre, all of these can do what your talking about. add a spindly little frame carrying all that weight.
gotta agree....bloody nice resto on the CBX

I would of thought.....compared to the standard bars.....dropped ones would of done just that ......transferred your weight to  the front end.
Check out the first vid at 5.35 min.....re wobble....in the link below.....you may need to put on some weight!!!

It's a lot different to ride. Almost don't need a gear box.  When the six carbys start to flow fully at about 5 grand, [revs to about 9500], it starts to motor.  The engine sounds busy on the road so at first your looking for another gear when your in top.

It's a bugger to service. The engine has to be lowered forward in the frame to do the shims for the 24 valves. That can take hours. Balancing the carbs is another matter.

Handles a bit like the XS. I haven't ridden it with the fairing yet I need to register it when I come back from overseas.

The XS only head shakes on an empty tank. Maybe I need to put some weight on. The dropped bars probably don't help  ;D ;D

Scarfey.....damn nice resto job....how does it perform on the road compared to the xs ?.
Re the head shake....the most common issues I ve found that brings this on is low tyre pressure. Check tightness of lower tripple clamp as well as head bearings and condition and bead runout on tyre along with balance.
Does nt leave much else other than checking the tracking of the bike.......possible bad road surface where you did the overtaking.

Does nyone have any info on fixes for it. My old one had rooted rear shocks so I put it down to that when it dd it but I had the Konis rebuilt on this one.......?????
