Bonus score then! Being purchased as a spares bike will substantially lower the purchase price for you.
Speaking from my own experience, there's nothing like having a second complete bike sitting there when you have a catastrophic breakage on your runner just when you have a big trip planned, and you can just walk over, undo the bit required and fit it to get your bike back on the road instantly, instead of having to wait for the bits to be ordered in.
In that scenario, they're worth their weight in gold! I've faced it a number of times. Over the years, I've used the starter motor, wiring loom, instruments, forks, wheels, tank, shocks, bars and innumerable small bits on my bike to get me out of trouble, particularly now I've moved out to the country, where it takes weeks sometimes for parts to come in.
eg. fork seals, ordered from local Yamaha dealer took 2 weeks to arrive. Went in (120klm round trip), picked them up, rode home, ripped the front end off my bike, tore the old seals out and went to fit the new seals. Wrong size!!!!!!
F$#%^%G B%#$$$%%D. After destroying the old seals ripping them out, only option (after the phone call) was to take the forks off the spare bike and fit these new wrong seals to them, just to keep the bike on the road.
Otherwise, I would've been bikeless for 3 weeks till the correct seals came to me direct from the States.
I'd go for it, mate.
