Geoff, I haven't got a harness, but he's welcome to use any bits out of our "XS1100 Electrical Emergency Kit"
I'll pop it over to you this arvo.
Max may have a harness.

                                    HUSTON,,,, WE HAVE A PROBLEM

516 will be back in my workshop this afternoon after being drowned in the floods, :( :(, no real big deal, ???,,,,,,,,

the big problem is it lives about 1klm from the river,, and only got hammered at high tide :o :o :o,, yes folks it got flooded with sea water,,,

we are looking at a complete and mimiscule rebuild, { a seriuos strip down, clean and freshen up if nothing else} I,m thinking electrics, brakes, bearings, oils, everything

so straight up I,m looking for some one that has a COMPLETE wiring harness for a Round Headlight,, as it went under water Len was away helping others and the battery has shorted and cooked quite a lot of it,, what,s left has white crap inside the plastic and the wire crumbles out of the cut off ,,

a whole new thread will start later but if I could get a donation or a cheap harness it would be appreciated, he had trucks tractors forklifts mowers pumps and a whole heapmore go under,, but if I can help in this little way it,ll mean a great deal to him

Good to hear all are well. :) :) :)

But Jeff, I know you lot in the big smoke are out of trouble now  :)but us up here in the bush have still got a big one burning here at Boho. :( :( :(

1,300 ha so far are gone and we still have 58 tankers on site with 5 aircraft including the Eriksons.

Our stike team was relieved with a new one at 8.00am today. Luckily my place is 30klm behind the fire now and I can get on with some work again.

Everyone, look after your neighbours and stay safe!

town,s a bit of a mess, they are now a bit concerned about the bridges that join the 2 sides of town, bridges are designed to flex up and down not sideways,,,

I'm also glad you boys are ok.  I've had my own experience with a cyclone in the NT years ago, it's certainly an interesting experience.

Keep your powder dry as they say!!!

Stay safe everyone.....the weather/flood reports say the waterlevels are still rising. Bushfires here in Victoria are contained.
It s a crazy time of year in Australia.

we,re all fine,, high and {ATM, we,re probably 4 mtrs above the level } dry, we have a marker at the end of our street that marked 2010/11 flood,, as of now it,s been surpassed by 1 mtre,, up here they talk about the 42,,,46,,, 74 floods,, very little s mentioned or known about the 1891 flood,,that was the biggest ever seen up here,, this is bigger than that,, we are in unchartered ground now,,, one of the state schools over north are always used as an evac centre,,, that has been deemed to be in the way of this flood, and has been evaced to higher ground again,,

at this point all the water is "local",, up river at the towns over Gayndah Mundubbera and Monto are also having record floods, the likes never seen since early 40,s,, that water will take ruffly 3 maybe 4 days to reach us,, so how knows what,s in store for us in the next few days,, the town is only now starting to recover financially from 10/11 and are now back in the same position if not worse,,

just hope my gaurdian angel has huge lungs and floats well ;)

Had a lot of messages and phone calls from concerned members asking about our welfare through the storm / flood, so I thought I'd start a thread so everyone can put up how they got on through this wild event.

Both Geoff and I got through it ok. His place is out of reach of the floodwaters, and my place (up on a ridge) only had the storm to contend with. I had a busy night with the wind pushing the rain (horizontal) under the sliding glass doors so I was mopping it up continuously through the night. I was supposed to be at work, so I was set for nightshift, all good. Lost power at about 5.30, so that put a bit more of a dampener on things. Damned wind howled all night, with a couple of 2-3 minute stretches that may have been little twisters as the whirlybirds on the roof were going beserk and I could see the glass in the doors bowing in. But we made it. Neriel got up at about 6.00am and put a pot of water on the (gas) stove for a coffee. Later, I went and checked how the neighbours had fared and they had a lot of their gardens ripped up, but the house and them were ok, which is really all that matters.
Came home and rigged up my little genny to run the fridges and power the household water pressure pump so showers could be had. Once that was sorted, I went to bed.
Woke up at 4.30 and the power was back on,and the skies were calm and clearing up, so I had a coffee and flicked on the tv. Git a shock when I saw the flooding happening at Bundaberg, as i was contemplating trying to get in for work tonight. Tried to ring in, but all lines were engaged continually, so I'm guessing the exchange might be under water.
had a quick look around the place to make sure it was all still here, and that the fences hadn't been taken out by branches etc.
Only damage to our place was the vent pipe for the loo had been ripped off the side of the house, so now it's going to be clean up time till i have to go back to work on Friday.

Could've been much worse if the guy who built the house hadn't been in Darwin in 1974. The house he was in back then didn't make it through Tracey, so this place got built to the specs that all the new ones in Darwin have to be built to, and then some. Even got a bonus bunker down near the dams for something really bad, but I don't think we'll be needing it just yet.
That's another one on the to-do list. Neriel wants it done up like a hobbit house (Lord of the rings) style, but I can't see how I can put a round door on the block building?

^ This was taken at 6am, after the main storm had passed during the night. Click on pic to view

^ This was taken at 615am. Still a few good wind gusts happening. Wasn't crazy enough to try to fiilm the front side during this storm.

^ Had my roller shutters wound down. Heard a few seed pods from the palm trees smash into the house during the height of the wind. Maybe saved a window. Now what to do about those stupid doors?

^ The future hobbit house. Has bunks up one end, table and benches in the middle and even a kitchen sink! Excavated into the side of the hill, made of solid block walls, 6x2 hardwood trusses, with a iron / concrete / earth roof. It's not going anywhere.

Hope everyone else fares ok with this storm as it works its way South.
Put up your experience on here.
