Thanks,
I had a chat with Mal, nice chap, he will be getting the brackets lazer cut in the near future (couple of weeks maybe)with some slight adjustments so I figure that is all good.
I don't know how many he is making but if anyone else wants a set I will be sure to let him know.

Ah OK  :D
Thanks that is what I was thinking to start with setting it up, That will give me an idea on wether I can just buy the original size replacement SS hose to the MC or wether I would prefer a custom shorter one.
Thanks again it is great to know these are interchangable.

Sorry not sure what you are suggesting PGNZ. Is it that U use XS lines that are made for the high handlebars or is it that I use these short ones with a splitter and then they will be a little long and I need to waste some length. Also not sure what path you suggest ?

yeah meant the steel R1 lines plumbed to the splitter and just using the existing XS rubber hose to the MC

Hi Eddy, Much appreciated. I am trying to contact Mal Pitman at the moment. If he has some ready made that may be the go. Otherwise I am now looking into laser cutting. Haven't had any luck sourcing the high grade aluminium yet, still unsure what thickness we need  ;)

You should have got the lines for the XS1100 not the original blue spot.
I used the original lines for ages, just bolted straight onto the blue spots.

To fit the calipers space the disc out from the wheel hub about 2mm that keeps the calipers away from the spokes.

I think Mal Pitman may have some of the brackets made up???

Hi Christian,
You might have missed, I got these lines with the calipers and MC. From memory ( I looked at HEAPS of options) it was cheaper than buying everything seperate. It sounds like my plan B may work and incorporate the splitter into the system.
I am just trying to chase Mal to see if he has any to sell.
Thanks

Brett,

PM me your address and I'll send you the template for the brackets and the spacers.

try and loop those long steel lines to go up, across and down and just use the XS11's short rubber hose and splitter,  no big deal

The brakes turned up today, that was quick. It all seems great except the SS lines are too short. They might be ok if I went for clipon handlebars but I would prefer the drag bars and have also ordered them.

I thought oh well some times diving in is how you learn and will have to buy some more. But then I realised all is not lost. As you can see in the pic the two lines go right upto the MC. I guess I can add a T section at the end of the lines and then just add the length needed to go to the MC.
From a glance the xs1100 T looks like it would fit. I also wonder where do I get a SS line made to suit.(thinking that any made to fit the original bars might be too long) I have a vague memory of that mentioned some where ??
Oh the Galfer SS lines look to be very well made.
The MC is a 14mm and seems to fit the 22mm handle bar :)

For ss lines I bought a set from Canada

http://xs1100.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=1728.msg10946#msg10946

They will go on before Bourke.

Just wondering how you made out with those lines and if they fit correctly or not. The maker is in the US. All I did was fit them to my bikes as best I could to make a pattern for him. I hope all was well and if they are not I would like to know. Thanks

it would be a mission to carve all that alloy out,  maybe it will weaken the H-beam cross-section of the spoke,  who knows,  but they'd look good                                               8)

Thanks, fingers crossed for the 14mm.
Not keen on taking some of the spokes, ouch, I am thinking in the future if I go for a 320 rotor then this should give that little extra clearance. Think I will just shim the existing rotors for now though.
