No, I don't normally mix em. Just circumstances at the moment are forcing this move.
That 20,000 figure was for both front and rear, though the rear dropped to about 15's when carrying a pillion + keg hanging off the stern. They were really good tyres! Probably why I can't get them anymore.

I've done a bit of googling and it seems quite a few manufacturers make a front and rear for our bikes. I was a bit worried there would be limited choice, Dunlop,Bridgestone, continental and avon to name a few.
20,000km's  :o that's something I've never got out of a bike tyre, that must be a front one?
Hey Ev
do usually mix n match brands, front n rear? I've always tried to match 'em. I guess there all black n round in the end

Until now, I've exclusively run Bridgestone Spitfire IIR's which gave good grip, wet or dry, and good mileage averaging 20,000 k's each . Unfortunately, my local tyre fella reckons they don't make them anymore, so have fitted a Bridgestone BT45 on the front which felt very similar. Steptoe has convinced me to try the Avon Roadriders which he says are the bee's knees. My rear Spitfire has done its last run and will be replaced with an Avon ASAP.

What sort of tyres are you guys running? would you buy'em again? what do you reccommend? for front and rear
At present I've got a continental rear and the old style metzeler front, with the sort of herringbone block tread pattern. the sidewalls actually have perishing cracks in 'em so its high time  they were replaced,
Havent done enough kays on 'em myself to have a real opinion on 'em
