Thanks Eveready1100,  Geoff was here on the weekend and mentioned you had one of a police bike but didn't know what you were doing with it.  Important question is how much you want to part with it? I keep getting different answers from bike shops here about what I need to do for solo registration. One said take rear pegs off and weld up hole while another said I just had to unscrew pegs and drill out thread...... this is easy as there is no thread. But all agree seat can only be a certain length. Saves me about $200.00 in rego fees. I did want to get the bike on club rego as a 30 year old vehicle but this only saved $25.00 and put restrictions on when I could ride.  So let me know  ;D  Thanks

Hi Jim. i didn't think we had to mod the seat to register as a solo up here. I thought you only had to remove the pillion pegs and get it inspected and mod plated.
Anyhoo, I've got a solo seat of a police special in pretty good nick. It's still got the original cover though it's got some small scuffing around the folds around the base and a bit of what looks like paint overspray across the back of the saddle. I haven't even tried to get it off cos I didn't want to use anything harsh on it in case it stuffed it up completely.
It's got all the mounting brackets & frame pads still underneath but will require new brackets on the bike's frame ( or extensions of your original mount points to fit it) as it is a lot shorter than the original seat.  I'm not sure about the ignition box location as this is off a Standard but I'll pop out to where my bike's parked in my wife's shed in the morning and check the clearance on it. You've got a Standard's tank on yours by memory so the front should fit nicely.
