Thanks Jeff for that link, just grabbed one now, thats cheaper than the german ones,
Hey Errol thats good to know, however i still needed some valve stem seals, mine's been blowing a good puff of smoke when it's first started now that it's done a few miles.
don't know whats in there yet, when i get the head off and have a look i'll decide what to do, i've still got the prob with what i think might be the main input drive shaft, the one with the starter clutch on it, if the bore doesn't look good then i'll do a complete strip and look at everything, although i think the low compression might be due to a slightly bent valve, we had some issues with the timing chain jumping some teeth when the motor got turned over backwards while brother Jeff was trying to remove the clutch, then we found out that someone had but the timing disc on 180 * wrong, was worried that some damage may have occured to valves, but it fired up really well and didn't sound too bad, just thought it was a tuning issue, should have put compression tester on it straight a way hey!!

Makzy,
        Have a chat with Steptoe. He had a contact who could make up re-usable copper head gaskets somewhere in Bundy. He only needed exact specs to set the pattern up, and he now has a stock new gasket to use as a template. (thanks Bryan) Can't recall if your motor's oversize, which would make  a stock gasket unusable, but it should only take a tweak in the CNC programming for this fellow to alter the bore diameter to suit your motor. You should be able to get away with the rest of the old gaskets barring disasters while dissassembling the top end.

Seems as though i've found out why i can't get the old girl to run nice down low, I've only got 92 psi in no 1 cylinder, not sure of the exact cause yet but i've been trying to find a top end gasket set or a complete set on ebay, the only ones i can find are in germany,  havn't got shipping costs yet, but if anyone knows where i can get one here in aus that would be good, also can't seem to find wiseco piston kits either, have seen them in the past, I think this computer is trying to drive me crazy, it won't work tho, that happened years ago, went to maleny swapmeet on the weekend, got some bits cheep, and some good contacts, an rh for $400, not goin but nearly all there,   cheers,
