Here 'tis Fred. - CLICK  - These'll fit straight on.
I got mine from Powercycle suzuki at Virginia in Brisvegas for about $20 in 2002.
I haven't got the same access to do the "bike shop crawl" nowadays to find one locally so that's the best I can do, mate. Price is good as well.

Thanks for pointing out a quite professional looking bit of kit but
"Where do you get it"

Although I've been using a 'wrist rest' for a few years now without any problems I have heard of this problem before and if I could get a purpose built fit like that I'd certainly give it a try.

This is what I ended up fitting to mine to give the throttle hand a bit of a rest on those long trips.

It fits innoculously between the switchblock and twistgrip and really does the trick. Can be fitted in minutes and the only mod needed is trimming the inner flange of the grip to clear the lever which took a few seconds with a stanley knife. Important not to adjust them up too tight or throttle jamming could be an issue. (They tried to ban them cos of this issue)
Certainly makes life easier on a trip just being able to give the right hand a bit of a rest, it only takes a few seconds of flexing to restore circulation to the fingers then resume normal operations again.

Here's the complete kit as needed to fit to an XS11

well spoken 'ready
mine is on the office desk as a reminder....
as I went thru the lantana my thoughts were for my back protector hanging in my cupboard at home
and the rocks/boulders ahead.
Lucrezia is well named I feel - If I don't watch her she will do me harm....

It's good that you can raise a smile after that incident mate. Insipid devices those are. Cheap, simple to install and work a treat for relieving hand tension down the motorway. I've got one installed on my shelf in the garage, as close as it's ever gonna get to my bike again.
My incident happened in Brissie. Fitted it at Moreton downs, headed into work down the Bruce Hwy, felt really good there till i reached the Nudgee Rd. off ramp. Peeled off highway in normal fashion ( at 4.30 am) and went to stop for the right turn across the bridge.
Resulting in weak front brakes applied fighting what felt like full throttle application = straight through intersection and down entry ramp to highway. Finally got stopped and device was instantly removed and i really don't know why I've still got it. Maybe a reminder of days like that, eh?
Luckily for me, I had a straight ahead option available to me but I still shudder to think if there had been cross traffic when I arrived.
To have it happen to you on a bend would've been a F**king scary moment, with you totally unable to do anything but try to ride it out, ultimately running out of lean angle on the curve and going down, and over by the looks of the pics.

You'll mend in time, Leesa can play nursies for you again, and it looks like lucrecia can be brought back to health without too much major surgery, so given the potential for what could have happened if one of those trees was a couple of feet over to one side or the other, I'd be thanking my lucky stars if i was you.
Take care Bryan, and keep us posted on your progress in the healing process.

P.S. Let me know if you need any bits for Lucrecia as i have still got most of that 2H9 out the back that is serving its purpose well.
I'm just really glad you're in as good a state as you are after that experience mate.

I should make it clear exactly what happened for me to go bush....
before I left I was given this throttle palm rest ($8) - seen them before... looks like a good thing
rest the wrist on the straights and all that.

Unfortunately at the time of the crash the unit was so placed on my throttle that when I used the brake lever my palm opened the throttle enough to accelerate the machine and I ran wide off the bitumen and the rest is history.
The palm rest is now on my desk where it will stay.

there are photos and explanation here

Damn, looks like I might be missing this get together as the powers to be at work have rostered me on for sunday as well >:(, I will try to swap this shift but it doesn't look good at the moment. I will let you know Pete, if the situation changes but for the time being you'd better count me out  :(
Cheers: Phil

Im going Sunday, (not racing, bugger) >:(might take the XS if the pillion in a million wants to come, otherwise may take the SS . If you wanted to do the ride around you have I hope filled out the form required and sent it off.
Please check the PCRA Barry Sheene webpage for the form , there was a close off date I think?
So the Qlders riding down are you doing this for the laverda rally or is this just a general group?
regards
Grant
