Hey thanks for the praise guys, and I have already confiscated a few bath towels from the wife's stock for that exact reason melbxs  ;) Not sure when the transplant will take place, but better to be prepaired early I recon  :) Here are some more  pics of the forks that highlight the awesome job done by RHC in QLD, the "Clear Powdercoating" on the lower stems looks a treat.

That's better. I could tell that it looked good even in the postage stamp pics. Looks magnificent in the bigger ones.

Get some old towels ready to wrap the downtubes with gaffer tape before you put the engine back in.

Yeah sorry about that Melbxs, but it was very late in the evening (more like very early in the morning) when I posted the pics and fatigue had well set in, Second attempt is much better  :D. Anyways here is another pic, but as they were taken with a phone camera, the quality is not so good.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would give you an update on the progress of the resoration, it's certainly been a while since my last update. Now that Christmas and holidays are over, I can sink some very needed time into the reassembly of this beast. The engine should be getting worked on within the next couple of weeks if all goes to plan (Leaking exhaust valve in number 3 pot)  I am only planing on going in as far as the head at this stage, but that may change when everything is apart and more evidence of abuse is uncovered. The forks look absolutely fantastic and well worth the $690 to have them serviced and re-chromed (Hard Chroming on the upper leg) and Clear powdercoated on the lowers after they were polished. The whole process was done by RHC (RAD HARD Chroming) of Rocklea Queensland and even through all this wet weather they are having up there in QLD (the humidity plays havoc with the powder coating process), the guys managed to do a turn around  in 6 weeks. Here are a couple of pics I took tonight after a full day of organizing the garage so the restoration can go ahead with minimal risk of damaging the frame and other bits and pieces by lack of room and clumsy feet  :D
