Valve Shims

Got myself a set of Valve Shims from these guys:

http://www.siriusconinc.com/

Good time to grab them with the exchange rate as good as it is.

Once I'd got the rocker cover off I found that all the exhaust shims were well within tolerance and all the intakes were a bit tight. Most had to go down a size or 2.

I don't think it will make much difference, but nice to know they are all good now. All the shims in place were original Yamaha shims and I think it's the first time they have been done in 65k kms.

I took the cams out to do the job and was pleased to see that there was next to no scoring on the cam caps and all the cam lobes looked good.

Bike started ok afterwards so looks like I got all the timing marks lined up properly.

Only stuff-up was forgetting to release the auto-tensioner at first (i have done the tensioner mod) - I took the plunger out, but forgot that the auto tensioner is on a ratchet. Made getting the cams out a bit of a challenge.  :D :D
