depending how badly they are cracked,
ive heard u can apply superglue and sprinle bi carb of soda
over the glue, havent tried it as yet,but heard good results
from it.

id like to see ur old side covers with the xs1100r
if u have any old pics.

where abouts are u?
ive got some badges u could borrow
if that would help u out.

Yeah I repainted the whole bike-I can take some closeup pics of the sidecovers tomorrow.
I think XS11 sidecovers are a beautifull shape---along with Z1 900/1000 etc; lend themselves to all sorts of artwork.
Has anyone bought sidecovers(Replicover?? Sth Aust from memory??). Are they any good?Ive got a spare set of orig ones but theyre pretty cracked and no one seems to do a good job with the plastic welding.
Im at work at the moment,Im running a Plasma Steel Cutting laser. Can cut up to 12mm Sheet steel but we usually run 1.2  1.6mm, 2.00 or 3.00 mild steel.Ive got an idea in mind to make some badges---as in the XS1100 tank badge or tailpiece( cant remember really what they look like as mine doesnt have them.If anyone can post up a pic true size etc I may be able to cut them.Could do in stainless too if the Bosses arent around ;).Ill need to get them sorted out with CAD.
Just an idea anyway.Maybe do custom badges

how long does it take to do,, it looks pretty intricate

depends on the beer situation...that helmet was done with an old lace doily-Lace painting was big back in the 70s, pretty easy really.Ive got a huge collection of old doilies I found at St Vinnies.
Do you reckon you could post that other pic here off the link---im hopeless at this shit----at least Airbrushes arent digital ;D  Cheers
