not real hard to do,, can be done easily,,acording to the "yanks", you can do it in frame if you feel like turning the bike on it,s back
I'd pull the motor out myself, that way you can get at all the casing bolts,, you won't have to take the "motor" apart, just turn it up side down, split the cases, and get at the tranny from there
there are probly as few things to check before the motor out job,,
where is the dry bearing sound coming from,?, because it's easier to get at, pull the middle drive first, there are stories of the big bearings in there running dry,
then I'd have a check of the clutch,, a couple of bearings/ or faces in there
could also be the starter dog,, pull the starter out and check that
is the sound with motor running or just rolling on the ground,,might check the drive as well, for small vibes,
check your manual,, you can get to some bearings from the outer caps
but if you going to go in, it's not a huge job,, have pulled the motor out of frame and down and re-installed in 4 1/2 hrs, specially if you know what your looking for
some thing to start with
