Thanks for the tip Dale, I haven't heard of that method before and would be interested in how it works. If you want to PM me with your number I would be more than willing to give you a call. The seat certainly looks great and it would be a shame not to get it just because of the locating lugs.

    You could use nutserts to fix the cowl to the seat i have got a nutsert gun if any one wants to try it i will have a look at an old seat and see if it will do the job

Yes very  good find, I have just emailed them for a quote on freight and also to ask if the attaching threads for the rear cowling are in the base. Seems like the holes for the chrome grab rail are  DIY, just not sure how you could attach the threads needed to hold the rear cowling in place.
