Hi Fred

I am afraid i shamelessly tried to get my bike to look like one of the other uk members (i like his bike so much)

Anyway ,,, In that picture it did look ok ,,, i was really happy then ,,, i took it out in the mud and rain for an MOT and it sat for a while ,,,dirty ,,,,  the powder coat laquer strated peeling ,, i never got the fairing fitted nice or painted ,,,had a few issues with the bike ,,it was a rush job in the end as i built it to then use on a european rally ,,ran out of time Mot'd 2 days before i left for the trip to France and Germany ,,anyway ,,, i got so fed up i tore it apart in the end ,,now i got another bike to mess with  ;D ;D I did enjoy it and got great memories and had great times with it ,,i used it for a 40 mile trip to work for a while in all weathers with a Martini Fairing on it ,,ended up hating the sight of the flippin thing  :-\

Gidday Gaff.
Welcome to the Aussie site. I'm Steptoes' neighbour (40 klms away) and seeing he's not online at the moment, I thought I'd just jump in and say hello. here's been a few Uk fellows logging on to this site lately which is really fair cos we spend a fair bit of time on the UK site too. It's all part of the master plan to ensure the survival of the species,eh? I think my bike would have been history by now if it wasn't for all the tips and advice gleaned from these sites over the years.
I had an E model 25 years ago which was a great bike till it got nicked. Only problem I had with it was the damned fuseholders melting. Wasn't any internet around then so I used 4 inline fuses to replace the original box. Worked a treat.
Current ride is a 1979 SF Special which is just about to get the front end rebirthed thanks to another member from tassie who supplied me with some new fork tubes to suit. Probably wouldn't have sourced them over here if it wasn't for this site.
Anyways, enough yakking. I'll leave you in peace to have a bit of a look around.

Look forward to finding lots of new people like Steptoe on here ,,,,
