Moderators will NEVER delete a post of interest, these can always be looked back on when needs arise
So don't feel left out if there was no responses
I used to get that all the time when I was married  ::) ::) ::) ::)

yes i did see that somebody needed one. Mine is just a standard old one though, dont think that fits straight on the rh. Correct me if im wrong? otherwise i would make 2 of mine while i was at it. My base is OK, but fiberglass is lighter, and does not rust. thing is to remake a seat base would only take $30-50 worth of fiberglass,so it is fairly ecenomic to do. I was not looking for extra pocket money, not trying to flog off some new product or anything, just an offer because i happen to know a guy. Ah well never mind.

Essjay.

I don't need any bits, but the things that would sell would  be the side panels and seat bases - there'd be a buyer for an RH seat base on this very board.  :D

lol ok ok not all at once everybody, one at a time!
OK, will take that as a no.
No sweat, no worries. I know fibreglass repro parts are available from several places already, thought folks may want some at a bargain price. No sweat we will just make the ones i need for the moment then. Cheers for reading folks, if the mods want to delete this post please do.

Fibreglass parts, is anybody interested?

Gday guys, just an expressions of interest thing here for the moment:
A very good friend of mine is a boat builder by trade, but make all kinds of fibreglass molds and items, whole boats, trailers, caravans, car bonnets and other panels.
Not a lot you cannot do with the stuff.
I am off to see him this weekend, will be having some parts made/customised for project Phoenix.
My question is, if we were to make some molds and make reproduction fibreglass parts, would anybody be interested? Some may not like to hear this, but i am totally fine with hacking up my original parts to make it how i want it. But if there is a call for it, i wont, i will take a mold and hack up a repro instead. No difference to me, just a little extra time and some extra glass, no problems for either of those.

So are there any items we would like reproductions of, side covers, seat pans, battery trays, rear cowlings, screens, airboxes, etc etc etc.

If anyone is interested just say the word and i will get back with a rough quote. The first few might cos a little extra to cover setup costs, but this guy deals in tens of thousands of dollars per order. I know any of you can walk into any shop that does fibreglass work, but i happen to know a guy, and  i think we can get them pumping out fairly cheaply, so if anybody is keen, let me know, and being so new to these bikes, let me know what they would be worth to you, no point going ahead if they arent worth the cost of the glass and a little time, on the other hand if replacements/repros are stupidly expensive, could be well worth it.

Cheers
