Hey out there xs land well I spent another weekend playing with my hack rod project big thanks to Christian for coming over and sharing his knowledge and tools with me . So as it stands I have removed the stator and run full tests on it including removing the outer cable sheaths and inspecting the cables inside for damage , and everything checks our and is dead on with the manual specks , I have run a continuity check on all the cables between the stator and rec reg and rec reg to battery and ground check all components and everything checks out , but im still not getting charge to the battery ? Well what I found last night when I had the bike running and was taking reading was that it was putting out charge and increasing charge from the rec reg during the first couple of min then would drop down and just be sitting at battery voltage and would not increase when the engine revs increased I was still getting ac power from the 3 stator wires thoughthe readings where a bit up and down. I did this test with my new rec reg ( that I tested befor and is in spec )
And also with Christian's rec reg that has come of a working bike . The other thing I noticed was that when I was getting reading of 14-15vdc from the rec reg I was only getting readings of 12.7vdc from my battery , I'm not sure if the battery takes time to build the same charge or if it could possibly be a battery issue? My guess is no as its a brand new battery and it takes and holds charge from the trickle charger no problem. Any way im a bit lost as to where to check next ( thinking it could be the stator has an internal brake that only happens when it heats up ? ) if any one has any ideas as to what I might check or has experienced anything similar It would be super appreciated. Cherrs Tarn .
