Are you still looking for the gasket? I have just found a spare in one of my parts boxes.

I get it, mate
I was on the hunt for an XS750/850 diff when the chain drive parts came up - thanks to Jonesy
I'd had the machine for nearly 20 years and it always bothered me when cruising looking for top gear -
she is abt 40kg lighter and a great bit of fun

Hi AussiXS11G. Great looking conversion and maybe one day......
For now and one reason why I brought the XS1100 was because of the shaft drive. No more messy chains and for the way I will ride the bike, the arguments of getting power to the ground and twisting etc won't come into play. The only mod I've made is revert to an XS750 diff to drop the revs.
I have undertaking other engine mods but they were mainly because I stripped the engine down to basics and took advantage of not having to do that once day down the road. just as well as I did as third gear was a little loose so I made a new bush and shim for it, being I think the main beneficial gear.
But like I said earlier, great conversion.
Regards

Hi and thanks for coming back quickly. I was ready to fit the mid drive gear to the crankcase (engine out of the frame) and guess what, the comprehensive gasket kit I purchased doesn't have that particular gasket. So I will put the engine in and continue with the build whilst waiting for a new gasket.
One I learn how to post pictures I will put a couple on the forum.
Regards and thanks.
