After talking to Alan about the bike and seeing a couple of photos, I decided to just do it.
A few photos below. Looks better in the photo than in reality. Frame and engine number match....206.
Unfortunately has suffered a bit from not being protected too well in storage. Corrosion damage to the clutch cover is obvious but not hard to repair. Tank paint has suffered, with clear coat coming away in patches. Insides of the tank appear pretty good. Brake cals are seized and discs are stuffed. Fork tubes are corroded up near the triple clamps. I could go on, but nothing that can't be fixed.
On the plus side.....very original in most respects apart from the exhaust - even has the original toolkit. 4/1 systems are fine but, personally, I strongly believe in centre stands on bikes of this size, so I'll probably put one of Heinz Weis's exhausts on this bike.
Speedo shows about 76K kms and motor turns over by hand, but clutch is seized and Alan thinks there is a problem with the engine valve(s). I will probably strip the engine for a full check.
Alan kindly supplied many extra parts with the bike, including the centre stand, extra shocks, gaskets, the original brace from under the oil filter, etc, etc. He also had some original documentation and a photo of the bike with the original exhaust (an actual photo from a camera that used film.....)
