Thought I'd give whoever's interested an update.
Thanks again Christian and Eddy.
Organising some adapters for blue spots through Mal.
Found some discs which I've given a bit of a spruce.
Picked up new lock taps from Yamaha.
Paint stripped and now resurrecting rims back to original.
Same with Tranzac exhaust. Will be ordering 2 new headers as I have a couple that have dents. Works out to be a cheaper option.
Mufflers getting prepped for polish.
My question is, are the rims painted in satin? I'll be using VHT enamel.
And is the engine the same in colour??
Cheers

Hey Chich46,
Where abouts are you located.
I have just pur a set of Blue spits on an RH and coulped them to an FZR 1000 master cylinder with braided brake lines. The result is a very noticable improvement in stopping piwer with a newer bike feel.
The beauty about the FZR MC is the ability to just screw innthe standard mirrors, It also maintains the genuine Yamaha look with the logo on the top cover, l will send photos later.
Unsure if you can still get the Blue spot adapters, Xtian???
If you are on Sydney I have a few used rotors that runntrue but need a skim.

Thanks for your advice XS11E much appreciated.
I would be interested to know if brackets & spacers are still available.
I guess that will determine if I do upgrade or run reconditioned stockers.

I'm in Sydney and will forward a DM
Cheers

Another question, would the EBC work with a Blue spot calliper provided the spacing is correct?

If EBC make a direct replacement for our rotors then the blue spots should fit with the usual minimum clearance
Eddys solution sound good too

Cheers Jonesy,

Yes heaps. I'm reluctant to purchase a second hand pair in case they may be buggered so may have to spend that bit extra for EBC or the like.

Another question, would the EBC work with a Blue spot calliper provided the spacing is correct?

G'day,
Recently began tidying up the 78 2H9.

Front discs and rim check at Laurie Alderton's identified the discs are buggered which explains the shudder.
They are non floating and drilled so unsure what they're off.
I am having trouble finding replacements.

I've been advised to replace them and not have them machined as there is no guarantee of success. Is this advice right?

I was going the Blue spot route and have trawlled the forum for information.

It appears there are a few options.
ie standard reconditioned callipers and MC with braided lines, decent pads with the added option of upgrading MC.

Blue spots with 14mm MC and Mal's brackets/spacers (if available) on standard rotors making sure of sufficient calliper clearance.

Would somebody have a lead to where I can purchase replacement rotors?

Any advice will be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers
