Yeah I heard the same thing that there would still be some local area people organising a Saturday ride. Bummer really, I’d already put myself as unavailable for work for those days so now I’m out of pocket $ wise because I can’t reclaim the days! @$”?/( council! And was just about to let everyone know that we had a spare bed in our unit because my mate pulled out!
But never mind, we’ll wait and see what happens.

I was just discussing this with a senior member at last weeks sydney meeting but was told that it wouldn't be cancelled but may be postponed as has happened before but there would still be people organising rides . We will be lucky to not be  in lock down by then

2020 VJMC Rally – Official Event Cancellation Notice

VJMC members and Rally entrants,

 

It is clear that a significant world event has presented us with serious challenges. While Australia does not yet display the same levels of infection as some other countries, the situation is now developing very rapidly. Public and political opinion is shifting to match. No matter how we may feel about the Coronavirus individually, there is no doubting the impact that it is having on our world collectively.

The 2020 Rally Committee has been monitoring the situation very closely. There are multiple factors under consideration regarding our rally, but Committee efforts have been focused toward three main goals: protection for the health of club members first and foremost; protection of the club’s public image; and the legal protection of club members and public alike through a very unstable period.

We are sensitive to the fact that many members have already dedicated time, effort and funds into preparing for the 2020 Rally, and are anxiously awaiting communication from this Committee. The decision has thus been made to officially cancel the 2020 Rally. Rally officials will be in contact to organise refunds for any Rally entries received thus far. We encourage members to contact their accommodation suppliers to seek cancellations wherever possible.

We sincerely hope that you are keeping safe and well during these uncertain times, as our club is no club at all without it’s most important assets – all of us.

We will correspond with all Rally entrants in due course regarding refunds of monies paid.

Thought we had beds available but just found out not so.
