Have you stripped and laid out on the bench as per the manual exploded drawing, that helped me to spot what  what was wrong with the RH re-hab gearbox

The gears left also look normal to me, thought the gear on the right was worn but I believe that’s how it should be?

I have the gears out of the police motor and still can’t see any reason for the issues I was having. 1st and 3rd were very noisy (1st more so) and 5th had a strange backlash or slip.
Maybe the issue is somewhere else. In other gearboxes a worn input shaft bearing can make first gear noisy and not so much the others. Maybe it is something like that.
Not a big deal because I only want 2nd and 5th out of this gearbox for the other motor that is slipping in 2nd.
I’m thinking I’ll just reuse 2nd and 5th and hope this 5th has nothing to do with the issue???
I would rather understand what was going on though so I don’t transfer the issue over.
