It will depend on if they are thermal/mechanical or electronic/relay .
Yup....first one you mentioned seems ok....second one...may be electronic as it seems they are quoting the load size of the relay.
I t s the pin orientation  that has to be correct as well.
Unless you can find an OEM secondhand unit....I would buy the 2 pin generic unit....if buying from an auto store.
There are so many ways auto cancelling can be achieved ...I would nt trust a generic one for this purpose.

The electronic /relay type would need a constant ground to operate...hence the 3rd connection on a smaller canister.
The OEM flasher relies on electronics within the "Cancelling UNIT" to receive a pulse either from the reed switch in the speedo (DISTANCE)and/or a built in timer chip (time delay)  to self cancel and it is a sealed unit .
Most older vehicles that use the thermal / mechanical flashers ........cancel the indicators via a nib that ejects as you push the stalk either up or down and is located  near the steering column and as you rotate the steering wheel comes in contact with tab that knocks the indicator stalk back to centre.

Hey PG ...here in Auztrayaliya we have been upgraded to the most modern up to date fibre optic internet come hybrid jizz that the future is all about...so they say.
Well what a backward step and a major f u c k up .....is what the subtitle of that movie called "The NBN" is.
Give me the old fashioned copper adsl and cable connections any day of the week......
After 39 yrs....I ve never changed a globe and only replaced the flasher once .
If it ain t broke....don t fix it.
Led equipment isn t infallible.
PS....I typed this with my indicator thumb and elbow.

the gigantic ancient clunky old 3-pin clickers were first used by noah
on his ark, but somehow yamaha managed to find a stash of them and
installed them on the xs11 along with the asbestos/mercury cyanide auto-cancel gadget in the speedo combined with the creaking old filament bulbs that first appeared
 back in ancient roman times,

it's why the indicators mostly won't operate unless the xs11's engine charging system (invented in around 1250 AD) is turning at least 7000 revs.  todays tiny 2-pin flashers and associated super-duper led bulbs blow the oem's prehistoric stuff into the weeds for efficiency,
but the extreme hardship of having to thumb the blinker switch back to centre to stop the flashing is likely to cause tendonitis or tennis elbow in the average xs11 rider, so that sadly rules the modern stuff out in most cases.

Here s a 3 pin flasher on ebay...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yamaha-XS-1100-2H9-INDICATOR-RELAY-INDICATOR-FLASHER-RELAY-FLASHER/132455463200?hash=item1ed6f5f920:g:shsAAOSw-olaS6UF

the 2 pin will also work.....
if it doesn t .......you may need to either make a short cross wire connection ...ie some short m to f leads to swap the line and load connections on the flasher to the harness wiring connector block....or if possible...remove the base of the flasher and crosswire to the connections internally.
The 3 pin flasher enables the self cancelling unit
It should state on the flasher the load...ie 2/4x21w+3w ....any variation of different wattage or non working globes will result in a faster or slower flashing.
in plain and simple talk............match the load rating on the flasher can to the globes .
br - positive
br/w - load
Y/G- from flasher cancelling unit.

SPECIAL as in SPECIAL or SPECIL as in special model?

Just had a look at both the Standard and RH and they are 3 pin. The US of Trump models have a 2 pin????? Flasher can, I think for the different legislation on running lights. ( a guess).

Tried some flashers from Repco and Super Cheap. Some don't work due to resistance???

The plot thickens

The US model runs a two pin, we need a 3 pin.  Take yours to super cheap and get it matched

Can anyone recommend a tried and true replacement for the old blinker clicky thing you know the one under the right cover under the fuse box. To run with original bulb type blinkers, not LED type
Thanks
