Put the new braided lines on and what a difference in feel at the lever, you dont realise how much swell in the lines is taken up by movement at the lever.
Looks like 594 wont be getting the new jewellery...........another new project has popped up and will get the headlight and other bits

So this is pretty much end of topic

Got through rego check no worries..........but  the 39 year old rubber brake hoses have finally said enough is enough. They couldnt hack it any longer after being twisted out of there natural "lie" to fit on the blue spot calipers for the last few years and then back again to fit the original calipers. The right one now leaks around the swaged fitting at the banjo bolt to caliper
So a set of braided lines is on order

insert gratuitous spoked wheel photo here

blue spots gone, OEM brake system  back on  and bled up from completely dry in 2 mins with the aid of my little assistant

ready for maiden run with new wheels
did some emergency braking and some hard acceleration and did a ring check for loose spokes etc. all played the same note.
So now onto the next thing...................
