How good was Kenny Blake? R100S and the CBX needed the straight to go by, then Blake just sat on the back wheel.
I was at the 78 6 Hour. I pillioned down, from Armidale, on the back of an R90S. I got some bad looks when the Yam won and I cheered. And that was from teh people I was travelling with - John Rooth, Grant Roff, Bill McKinnon amongst them. We watched from the top of 'stop' corner.
I can still recall the hundreds of headlights heading north along the Putty Rd and New England Hwy that night. Also recall my first ever sighting of a Velocette Clubman and being amazed at how such and 'old' bike could keep up with the modern ones. Truth is, the Velo probably wasn't that old.
Geez. Nostalgia.
