Ok, I see, it's missing in one of the pics, I had it elsewhere but it's on there now. thanks for the offer. The last piece is the YAMAHA badge on the cowl, I have to paint it up, it's all weathered & faded, it's not a simple job.

Looks great, what regulator did you use?

Just whatever was in the box, everything was in good order, all seems ok for now but it's yet to be properly ridden. I expect some teething problems. We had a starting problem & thought it was electrical but seems to be fuel, taps set to on & with only about 5 ltrs in the tank, set it to res & all seems ok.
Are the regulators a problem ?

The whole story is that I was offered the Moke for nothing but declined it. My brother in Hervey Bay has one and told me how much they are selling for in Queensland. So I decided to take it. The price had gone up. Because I had gained experience doing up my 1150 GS my mate asked me to do the same to his wife's 1150R. Done deal.

I've got a a bent piece, that is if you mean the strips under the seat, but I'm not worried, couldn't see how to get them to fit & line up with the bikes lines.
This bike was built up from box's of parts we got with a rolling chassis, the engine was in parts but somnewhat assembled & scary when opened to reveal what people will risk. It was completely stripped & re built with all the old parts cleaned up, sand & bead blasted & re painted etc. The new part cost was kept in check but with ebay, CMS Mikes XS & a few other sites , parts were readily available. The only part we couldn't get was a sidecover top rubber, got 3, I'm thinking about adapting a bike tube in some way.
It looks ok in the pic but it's far from restored. Engine was rebuilt back to new, bearings, seals, pistons & rings, head re built. The gearbox was in good condition as was all the drive train except for seals & bearings.. Bit better than an oily rag job. Carbies were a bit of a challenge, the jetting was amusing, all sorts of jets in it, we think we figured what std was & went with it & seems to be ok, a good ride will tell. She pulls like a train & very smooth, no rattles or clunking apart from the Sherman Tank gearbox.  It came with the 4 into 1 exhaust as well a standard exhaust thats been painted black & chopped up a bit, I got a $180 Dan Moto muffler, sounds nice & not too loud.
The colours came from a pic on the net that seemed to fit, all done in the shed, bit rough up close but affordable.
Turns out it's an early model chassis, 79 I think & the engine is a late model, 81. Whatever it ended up a nice bike. I'll Club historic rego it, too many other rego's & this fits the bill. I don't get time to ride all over the state to warrant a full rego. Wellington's out of our range, pussy I know, but till I retire there's little time for pleasure.

Another little tip, if you are putting in multiple photos, remember to do a double return after each one to get them displayed under each other, with a little gap between them.
