Hey Paul, were the seals not available from local bearing supplier?

Thanks for the offer Brett, but I've been down to my local bolt shop and got some shiny new ones with copper washers. Wouldn't happen to have some OEM crankshaft seals would you?

Yes that is what I had to do to the Scotty's machine with one leg, there should be a cooper washer between the allen head and the fork leg so when you see the cooper stop drilling .
nothing for a man like yourself.  ;D

thanks Hen
good info
more fork dramas this arvo, made a tool to hold the damper tube thingo while I undid the cap screw at the bottom of the fork legs and had a fail, tried 19, 18 & 17 mm AF nuts on an extension tube. 19 wouldnt go in 17 & 18 spun inside the socket. put me aldi snake camera down the hole and it looks well rounded and stripped....might have to drill the head off the cap screw at the bottom of the fork leg to get it apart.

Late as usual good idea to put kero in combustion chamber and check to see if leaks past valves
I used to use a tool called a syncro seater for valve and seat facing.

Also found steering bearing invoice 32006JRRS that's the one with the seal and E32005J

Also swing arm bearings and seals 025.040.07 (G00282) oil seal E30203J Bearings

Also Drive Shaft Uni joint part # 901004 all from allied bearings

the rebuild that keeps on giving hasn't failed to disappoint, started out just replacing the right hand side fork seal and found this........

gotta admit the bloke who put the piece of conduit in did a very good job of cutting it square, the free length of the cut spring is 467mm, and a nice shade of heat bluing where he cut it with a grinder, what is the free length supposed to be? same as a standard fork spring? I have spares of those. and another question, does anyone bother putting air in these forks?
I'll be disappointed but not surprised if the left side fork isnt the same
