do all the selector forks have the locators on them,  the gears can,t move without the forks moving

pins 2,  3, and 10 all good? is pin 10 in there?

Doh! I had another think on my theory then realised end float is not an issue as pin 17 locates the drum axially preventing end float in the drum from inadvertently selecting a gear.........

No I don't know but  at a guess minimal and there would be a thrust washer or a spacer to adjust what's that needle roller bearing like  ::)
Cant for the Rally the most in touched is up for grabs cause I have had the Rubber gloves out to Scotty's RH  :-\

Sludge/crap in sump? To be honest mate, nothing grabbed my attention, i didnt really look too hard either, just removed, glanced and put to one side.

not fixed yet, havent even turned the motor upside down yet, work bench is being used for trophy making at the moment. Pretty sure it wont be going to wellington, hang on, correct that, I know it wont be going.

Pretty easy really, jacked motor up in the frame, put 2 lengths of 50 x 50 timber under motor on top of the frame rails, with sump and oil pump removed everything just cleared and motor just slid right out. Oh, swingarm was removed too.
