The shape of the side cover and frame mounts were also different on the later models.
I also fall into the correction catagory. :)
So many questions ...
Being a limited edition ...anything is possible.
Frame and engine numbers tell the tale....

Nah no big deal, I got confused a few years ago looking at bikes in the UK and Europe, they'd say it was a 78 or 79 but it would have a 1.1 badge, then I found out that they never called them XS elevens over there only here and the US. But I will stand corrected if I'm wrong, Cheers.

Maksy...the conflict is 1.1 was 1980 - 81....kickstart shaft was 1978 - 79.
Just an observation....not trying to be picky.

They recon that they were built in 1979, so yes it should have a kick start shaft!

I m a lover not a fighter ...it s growing on me the more I read about it and it s benefits and rarity of only 500 made..........did that 500 include the non martini copies/originals you could order in silver or "MACHO MAROON" ( whoever dreamt up that name and colour is a legend ...even if they are still kicking).
There s a pristine unit in the UK for sale for 7,000 pounds or $11446.26 au.
I think I d buy it if provenance and history was solid.
And registration wasn t an issue. >:(
And importation did nt cost an arm and a Martini .... :(
And ....Yes I would rather have one Martini ...than a RH.... :o
There.......I said it..........someone had to say it........cos there s something in the water "Downunder" that is sending normally sane people crazy loco jungle fever /juice batshit zombiefied .
And.....one of the good things about a Martini is..........there s a Standard underneath..... breathing life into that fairing.  ;)

righto - just so we are all on the same page - it's a winner I reckon - trumps to the Steptoes - wonder what it weighs?
