oil leak, rally bike

we,{Ev and I} among other things this saturday got the bourke bike running again, its been 4 yrs, the one we had to turn back to home and get the roundy on the second rally,
a while ago whilst swapping bits on another bike, {flood victim I think} we found the main oil journal bolt under the timing cover had come loose and that was where the oil was coming from
all didn,t go smoothly, we couldn,t get fuel to #3,  so they came out and were set on the bench with an aux tank, the bowl came off so we could see the float and needle were down, still no fuel, took the float and needle out, still nothing, took the seat/gauze out, still nothing, #4 is getting fuel so the pipe came off and air was blown from the top into the bowl so as not to complicate the issue any further and a chunk of something flew out of the body, and dissapeared just as quick so what it was we do not know,

next came the refit and balance, the refir went well but how hard can a balance be, bloody hard when a hose off the nib has a split in the thing, 1,2,3 came good straight away but the gauges and revs were all over the place till the split was discovered,

once we sorted that she purred like a kitten and with the throttle blip and snap shut sounding beautiful,

we let her run through a couple of litres of fuel at high revs to similate a half decent run, well and truely up to temperature, no oil leak anywhere and happy with how all turned out,,
thanks Ev
