ok well its been run round for a few days starting up in the  morning it fires up ok but takes a while to settle it accelerates ok  pops and squeals sometimes by the time I get in to the car park at work its idling  just under 1.5, the other day on the way home I gave it a squeeze on  a side street  and the taco swung wildly  from 3 to 6k  then settled down again
Steptoe the  idea of a visit to the XS hospital sounds great except  I  don't get a free weekend for a month so heres an idea   allowing for the planetary movment and  the chance of them all lining up  with the other qld members  get a weekend
work shop session at the XS hospital   bryan may have his bike set up by then
just a thought

kind of with Jeff on this Tim,,
having replaced the diaphragms, full vacuum has been reached so the carbs will have to be retuned to suit,
instead of all having been set to thier individual vacuum capacities, some not to bad some bloody shocking, you may also find now with good vacuum, butterfly seals are leaking more thereby giving differing air fuel mixes,

if you want bring them for a run up and we,ll strip, clean, rebuild, and tune and take them home again, have all the internals {brand new and seconds} that are needed on hand

Have you set the carbs with a colortune and a carbtune kit ?
If there are no timing or jet issues ...once set with these 2 the carbs should settle and idle ....and not hang.
Depending on what exhaust / air filter setup you have ...you may have to live with the low down lag ....and having a chair onboard would nt help due to the extra strain put on the engine on takeoff.
With all the crap found in the carbs...has the tank been checked out for internal rust etc ?

Hi all
heres an update took it out for the school pick up run this arvo hit the button wound over came to life  the idle kept wandering  all pipes came to heat , once it was armed up it sort of settled , it still feels laggy on take off and occasionly the revs climb then they go back to a reasonable level  il run it round for a few days to see if it all settles  on a side note when the bike was idling in the carport  after the run it sounded nice

ok carbs reinstalled  lines and filters attached   put tank on turned taps to prime
sure enough fuel comes  straight out  ,Fuel line came loose from the  Tee,  cured that   final  look over  hit the button  and she fired up  popping and coughing ,that settled down  had a fiddle with the idle level  then wen t for a run round the block   seems to be ok but  il get  the carbs tuned and it should be ok
thanks Hen for the carby  job

Hi all heres the rub
I've applied Jonesy's  idea of diagonal fuel line feeds  fired up no dramas  ,took it for a run round the block  popping on back off and bogging down  a bit on take off
so I thought  I'l take it for a run up the express way   bout 80 ks the popping starts and pot 4 is still slow coming to heat  , on a off chance I put a new plug boot on  and it seemed to settle a bit  but still popped  drained carbs multipule times was thinking  new plugs but nothing open so maybe tomorrow

Did you drain each carburetor to check fuel flow
Also sounds like Dans sad story how did he fix his miss.
Andy also fixed a miss by cleaning carby jets
Keep positive ????
