Welcome Aussie,

You're not alone with your obsession....er hobby.  I have several including a chair on a 78.  You are of course invited to come along to our annual rally, this year in Wellington NSW.. from what I believe, it is going to be an epic event with over 30 people making the journey.  Now that would be a first, father and son/daughter coming on XS 1100s.

look forward to seeing your bikes on the forum.

Your not alone with fond past and present memories these great bikes provide.
Great to have you onboard. What state do you live in?
We cover far and wide with ownership............aside from the NT and Perth.
Waiting to see those pics to tie in the story.

Well my first experience with an XS1100 was in October of 88. With one sidecar attached to it. All our mates thought I was getting old getting a chair, but it was preplanning. Our kids grew up in the sidecar (two girls) and our mates missed out on rides and runs because they didn't have one. And yes we still have her. Until recently. My eldest daughter has now taken it on and is now riding the XS outfit that she grew up in.
I also have an 78 XS1100E solo on club rego and given it's age it needs a lot of attention.
Also have an 81 RH as well. So myself and my daughter are obviously sharing my parts stash now.
I thoroughly enjoy riding the XS. But also have other 70's bikes that I enjoy riding as well.
Stay upright and enjoy
Cheers

When I figure how to post photos of my beasties I'll put them up.
