I'll give Wax and grease remover a go . I use a lot of it for my airbrushing ; usually by cheap stuff like Septone----but anything 3M is good. Its hard to keep clean due to the plain rough alloy engine finish.

Clean engine with 3M Wax and Grease Remover .

New pic but Bikey pretty much same as last pics. as Im on a budget ---ie; Unemployed-- ive just been trying to tidy bike up. Few hours with Autosol and headers starting to look ok. Ceramic coated so dont really know how to polish them but Autosol's working on the rear off them.. Next plan is remove both sides , totally clean and polish , also new stainless header flange bolts. Replaced old rusty headlite bolts. Carbs need a balance but that will wait. Anyone have ideas on how to clean engine? Ive tried degreaser, carb and brake cleaner.....needs more. Water blast?.
