Hey Mick,

Just re checked the link.  you are correct.

1980 G was 3X1 1000101

1981 H was 3X1 1001101.

I have an H with 3X1 1003131

The speedo without the dimmer came with the 2H9 loom.

The 3X1 loom has the extra 3 pin plug along with subtle differences.

Confusing aint it?

Eddy

Thanks for the info I'm guessing that I have 1980 XS1100G with the wrong speedo as it hasn't got the wires for the dimmer Mick

Is it a 3X1

The drawing I have isn't real clear, but if its a G model it might be for dimmer control on the instruments and connects to the speedo you press or pull the trip meter reset knob and it becomes a dimmer control
