and be able to be worked on by the owner with 10 and 12mm spanner and a pair of pliers, without the need for an aeronautical degree in science

Chrisso.....these bikes are in a world of their own. Unlike most other classic japanese bikes the Xs1100 in general ...sells for what the buyer thinks its worth and is prepared to pay. Time and time again we have seen sellers overprice their beloved...only to see it decline in asking price due to no offers or interest being made. As owners and collectors of these machines ..in some way i m happy they have nt gone the same way as say...the kawasaki 900 with cartoon like pop your eyes out of their sockets prices.
The important thing is.....what do you think its worth....and from what you have written so far......its invaluable to YOU .
To some one else thats going to vary by a country mile.....depaending on who it is....and how deep their pockets are....and how bad they want it.

If I was to sell Bikey, which I dont want to... And I probably wont unless I get some stupid offer. But even then no.             206,000 k's.     cmon its hardly run in. Its running the best its ever done. Lots of new leccy bits. but no.  Market value=    ?. Modified X1100's.    God only knows.
