Chrisso, I'd go with Tims advice, ditch the original fuse box, replica ones are easily got on ebay.  yes, only re-wired the headlights
Put a complete new(ish) loom in it in the late 80's or early 90's (should be in the log book) and now its probly old too. If ignition worked for a day and then didnt either the new ignition s/w carked it or just coincidence that something in the wiring has died.......sorry I couldnt help anymore than that.

Hi
ahh the  original fuse box like anything it works for so long then it just gets old the plastic gets brittle ,it jiggles and connections aren t solid , I had the same problem thought about a replacement original , but necessity sent me to repco or similar  business and acquire a blade type fuse box fairly simple swap out ,with out the drama of the occasional dodgy glass fuse 30 min swap out ,

Few questions re bike. I re-wired the ignition switch myself. Worked for one day...Major problem is the headlites. . Far as I can tell bike has never been re- wired, apart from the twin headlites.??. Ive just put new pilot indicator and oil pressure pilot lights in--  ( LEDS)_-which only work with di-odes..( they now work). Main problem is the rest of the wiring. Main Question; You never re-wired the bike? apart from the lights.??. My man having a lot of trouble;   a lot of corroded wiring, dodgy connections. Im giving him the original Haines manual tomorrow ---with the wiring diagrams.. Next question. Does anybody around the Northern Beaches work on old M/C electricals??. Is there a replacement fuse box/ ??? . Thanks .
