Well done to all ...sounds like a great rally yet again.
Did anyone perchance take a camera .....and push that little button on the side or top and take what is commonly known as PICTURES? ??? ::)
With some aptly worded descriptions /names etc  ;) :)
Anyone?  ;D

My little ride to the rally with Lou, the day ride and my trip home.

Jonesy organised a great ride through Hill End [and an unscheduled stop at his place]

The double dots are Wellington and the Caves Caravan Park just out of town

A big Thank you to the Steptoes and all others involved in organizing and part taking in a great weekend. The food hospitality and company was all great, as was the riding, how jealous would other rally's be knowing we had a pig on spit AHHH YEH. :D

Scarfey took a picture of me standing beside the Number #3 XS11 bike of Mal Pitmans when we were in the Bathurst motor museum, but I can't find it to post.

Hey Hen you realize you weren't getting good fuel economy when you overtook me doing a tad over 100 and??????, (let them figure that out). And a big thanks also for the shirts.

On Sunday myself and the man of mystery (no intro required) went for a ride to Gulgong and visited the local museum, I have to say it is probably one of the best I have ever seen, highly recommended if the opportunity occurs again.

Caught up with John (XS RUNNER) in Molong  and road together from there to Yass where we went our own way great scenery also in that canola country.

Post more later.

Cheers

Lou

Yes a big thanks to all who made it so GOOOOD :D
What a trip we had home :o never a dull moment with Bryan Tommy & Trevor around :o
A real treat was the way we were looked after by Tom's golf friends at Tenterfield true country hospitality ;D
this morning Bryan headed off early heading for Bris Vegas while we headed for the coast Tom seemed to be using his animal magnetism as a kangaroo  tried to hitch a ride and then a rather large black cow which was loose. only thing happened to me was the clutch cable broke just out of Lismore only real problem was when I got back to the coast had to take a couple of side streets to miss the red lights. home about 12.15pm  ::)
the clutch cable not carried by Yamaha Australia any more, but after talking to Yamaha Nerang they put me onto Gladstone then they put me onto Gatton I have a genuine cable in the mail for $36 :)

Good to see you all

G,day Errol
Like Jeff said, you made the smart choice. You were missed but their is always next year.
The honourary? XS rider (spike) and I made it home without getting a drop of rain. pulled into the shed and it started coming down about 5mins later.
Even though i couldnt even rig a trophy award for myself. XSrunner-John took out the award I had my eye on for "oldest standard"....1977 manufacture plate? what the?
as a consolation, Kim informed me we won an award and trophy on the weekend for the quality of our wool amongst the central tablelands growers, so that was pleasing.
Once again, a big Thankyou to Michelle and Geoff "the stepoes" for all their forward planning and behind the scenes work that makes these events a pleasure for all to attend.

Well once again the Steptoes and the others who contributed to the 2015 Rally have out done themselves.

Thank you all for your company.

Lou and I left Canberra Thursday, met the other reprobates Friday morning and rode to Wellington via Hill End through great country. We had a nice ride to Orange Saturday and Jonesy organised a lunch at a lovely Restaurant.

I'm Home safe and sound. The old girl performed perfectly.

Well done the lot of you.

From what i m reading Errol.....you made the smart wise decision. Better to be around for next years rally than risk life and limb. If a few more people exercised the common sense you displayed they may still be be around....very sad the loss of life so far. Be safe everyone and stay put if you have to .....the message being broadcasted is stay off the roads in this freakish wild weather and flash flooding.

+1 on what Jeff said!

I had to hit the "ABORT" button on my trip, as my limited departure time window coincided with the storm's peak intensity period. i was still keen on doing the trip, but as I was packing, the sound of the rain steadily pissing down on the roof got my suspicions going, so I spent the afternoon alternating between packing and monitoring the BOM website.
Final nail in the coffin was reports from my local roadhouse in town of a few culverts on the road to the west already having water over them and the prospect of unexpectedly hitting one of those in the rain alone at night in the middle of nowhere drove my sense of self preservation to defeat my desire to get to the rally.
Sorry about that people. Next year, eh?
